Privacy policy
Last updated: July 19, 2026
This policy is short because there isn't much to disclose. IntactFile's repair engine runs in your browser. We never receive your files, so there is nothing for us to store, share, sell, or leak.
Your files
Files you repair are read and processed locally on your device, inside your browser. They are not uploaded to us or to anyone else — you can verify this in your browser's Network tab at any time (walkthrough here). We do not say "we don't store your files," because that would imply we receive them. We don't. There is nothing to store.
Accounts
The free tier requires no account and no email address. The free-tier daily counter lives in your browser's local storage, on your device. Paid subscriptions (Pro/Business) require an email address for login, receipts, and renewal reminders — nothing else.
Analytics
We run a first-party, cookieless counter on our own domain (api.intactfile.com) — no Google Analytics, no third-party scripts, no cookies, nothing that follows you across sites. It records anonymous, aggregate events only: a page view, that a repair ran and its outcome (success, partial, failed), the file format and a coarse size bucket, and clicks on the pricing buttons. Never file contents, never file names, never your IP, never anything that identifies you.
Events are batched and sent once, when you leave a page, so nothing touches the network while a repair is running. And theproof page runs none of it at all: open DevTools there and the network stays silent after load. Don't trust it — verify it.
Payments
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us; we receive only what's needed to grant your credits (email, purchase confirmation).
If you buy credits
If you buy credits or a subscription, we store your purchase email (plus a hashed copy used for lookups) and credit counters — how many repairs you bought and how many you've used — on our credit ledger atapi.intactfile.com. That's our own service, on our own domain, and it exists so your credits survive a cleared browser or a new device: they're tied to your purchase email, not to this browser. We never store your files or their names there — the ledger holds counters, nothing else, and your repair history stays on your device.
Honesty note on the "0 bytes uploaded" claim: it refers to your files, and it stays true. The calls this site makes toapi.intactfile.com carry a purchase token and counters as JSON — never file data — and only happen if you've bought credits or ask to recover them.
Anonymous repair telemetry
To know which repairs succeed and where to invest engineering work, the app may report anonymous, aggregate events: file format, outcome (success/partial/failed), damage class, duration, and a size bucket. Never file contents, never file names, never anything that identifies you or your file.
