Your file never leaves your device — repair runs in your browser. 0 bytes uploaded.

The story in one paragraph

IntactFile is a file-repair tool built by a solo developer in the EU after losing a recording the usual way: the recording was interrupted, the file wouldn't open, and every "online repair" service wanted the footage uploaded to someone else's server first. IntactFile takes the opposite approach — the repair engines run inside the browser tab, on the user's own machine. A corrupted file is usually intact data inside a broken structure; IntactFile rebuilds the structure locally and hands back a working file. Nothing is uploaded, which is not a promise but a checkable fact: open the browser's DevTools Network tab during a repair and watch — the file generates zero outbound requests.

Key facts

What makes it different

Every other file-repair service we're aware of is upload-based: your file travels to their server, gets processed there, and a result travels back. IntactFile is the opposite — the repair runs on your own machine and the file never leaves it. That's not a privacy policy to trust; it's a property you can check yourself, in the Network tab, in under a minute.

What we don't do

No uploads — there is no server that receives files, so there is nothing to store. No account required for the free tier. And no invented success rates: repair rebuilds structure around data that survived, and when the data is gone, IntactFile says so instead of pretending.

Boilerplate

Two lengths, free to copy verbatim.

Short (fits in a post)

IntactFile repairs corrupted files — ZIP, Office documents, PDF, and video — entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and you can verify that in the Network tab. Free tier included, no account. Built by a solo developer in the EU. www.intactfile.com

Standard (three paragraphs)

IntactFile (www.intactfile.com) repairs corrupted files directly in the browser: ZIP archives (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files), PDFs, and videos in MP4, MOV, MKV, and WebM. Most corrupted files are intact data wrapped in a broken structure — a video index that was never written, a ZIP central directory cut off mid-download, a damaged PDF cross-reference table. IntactFile rebuilds that structure on the user's own machine and returns a working file.

Unlike conventional "online repair" services, IntactFile has no upload step. The repair engines run inside the browser tab, so the file never leaves the device — a claim anyone can verify by watching the browser's Network tab during a repair. That matters for contracts, payroll spreadsheets, and footage that shouldn't end up on a stranger's server, and for multi-gigabyte recordings where uploading is impractical in the first place.

IntactFile was founded in 2026 by a solo developer in the EU, after an interrupted recording left him with an unplayable file and no repair option that didn't require handing the footage over. Diagnosis is free for every file; the free tier repairs files up to 500 MB for video (100 MB documents, 50 MB photos), three per day, with no account. Single repairs cost €5.90, and a repair that fails is never charged.
